About the book
During his career, which lasted almost half a century, Jacinto Molina, better known as Paul Naschy, has become an icon of the European horror cinema. Until his Death in 2009 he has devoted himself to the genre as an actor, screenwriter, director and producer.
Since the introduction of the DVD a lot of his formerly rare and hard to find movies have become available to a larger audience, but only little is known about the advertising material that was used to promote these movies during their theatrical release.
This was the first lesson I had to learn when I started to collect these items more than 18 years ago. While there was plenty of information available about the advertising material for classic (horror) movies, nobody seemed to be interessted in the "guilty pleasures" of the 70s and only few collectors realised how rare a lot of these items actually were.
Over the years I have become more and more fascinated by this subject and have started to focus on these items. Now I'm very happy to share the results of my "research" with other collectors and movie fans in form of a revised and expanded edition of MUCHAS GRACIAS SENOR LOBO - the ultimate guide to Paul Naschy movie memorabilia.
At this point of the production a lot of things still need to be discussed, but here are some facts about the upcoming book we are already aware of:
- The new edition will be completely in color.
- All text will be included in English AND German.
- The foreword will be written by Paul Naschy's son Sergio.
- We'll have it printed in a larger format (approx. 8x11 inches).
- It will contain even more posters, lobby cards, admats etc. than the 1st edition.
