November 13, 2011:

Another update about the progress:

It's been almost three months since the last update, but of course we have continued our work on the book:

The German version of the text is almost finished and we will be able to start with the English translation in early December.

We have also continued with the scans (almost 2.000 items have been scanned until today) and we hope that the remaining items will be scanned until the end of the year.

Paul Naschy's son Sergio has finished his foreword and Elena from horrorrisesfromspain.wordpress.com is currently translating the text.

August 21, 2011:

Time for a short update!

Three weeks passed since the last entry and it's time for a short update: We have scanned almost all "small" items such as lobby cards, pressbooks, stills etc. (That's almost 1.650 items/scans) and next week we will start with posters. But I have still no clue how long it will take and I don't have an idea about how many hours of photoshop-work have to be done.

And some good news: I was able to buy a large collection of handcolored Spanish lobby cards for titles like Frankenstein's Bloody Terror, Blue Eyes of a Broken Doll, Marshall of Hell etc. As far as I know almost none of these have ever been shown before.

Cover art

At the moment we are working on a special issue of CREEPY*IMAGES, that will be included with the upcoming German DVD release of LOS MONSTRUOS DEL TERROR.

Of course we want to promote the upcoming book within the pages of this issue and so we had to come up with the cover art of the book much earlier than we thought. And here it is ;-)

July 25, 2011:

Bigger, better and completely in color!!!

We still have to discuss a lot of things, but here are some 1st facts about the second edition:

The new edition will be completely in color.
All text will be included in English AND German.
The foreword will be written by Paul Naschy's son Sergio.
We'll have it printed in a larger format (approx. 8x11 inches).
It will contain even more posters, lobby cards, admats etc. than the 1st edition.

July 12, 2011:

The second edition is coming!

In 2006 I have written and published the first edition of MUCHAS GRACIAS SEN(I)OR LOBO!, a book totally focused on the advertising materials (posters, lobby cards, campaignbooks etc.) that were used to promoted the movies of JACINTO MOLINA (better known as PAUL NASCHY) throughout the world. The book has been sold out now for several years and since it was printed in very limited number it's almost impossible to find a reasonable priced copy nowadays.

Back in 2006 I had to deal with a very limited budget, so only a small part of the book was printed in color and even if I'm still very satisfied with the result (knowing of all limitations during the production) I always dreamed of a full color edition of the book.

Now, with the help of the CREEPY*IMAGES staff (which I'm very happy to be a part of), this dream will finally come true...

Of course producing such a book it a terrible lot of work and since we have just started some weeks ago I haven't got an idea when the new edition will become available, but in the meantime I will use this website to keep you informed.
